Sherri Loran

Regional Coordinator (Cody-Powell-Lovell)
sloran@abshs.org

My name is Sherri Loran and I am a Regional Coordinator with Absaroka Head Start.

I was a Head Start parent 5 ½ years in Cody and it was such a wonderful experience that when a job opening for Teacher Aide became available in February 2011, I jumped at the chance to become an employee at the Cody Center.

I was a Teacher Aide for a while, and then in September 2014 I became the Teacher in the 3-year-old classroom and a few months later, Center Supervisor.  The opportunity presented itself in early 2017 to become a Regional Coordinator allowing me to travel to Powell and Lovell to give additional support to teaching staff in addition to continuing to work with the Cody Center.  I love this position, because it allows me to mentor/coach teaching staff, travel to other Head Start Centers for classroom observations, and collaborate with other Regional Coordinators and Managers to support staff in a variety of ways.

My education includes an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with a focus on Professional Child Development.  I feel like I am able to use skills from all of these areas in my position as Regional Coordinator, and that makes my job a lot of fun!

I live in Cody with my four younger children ages 18, 17, 14 and 12.  We like to spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors hiking, fishing, kayaking, camping and hunting.

Head Start has been a major part of my life for over 15 years, and I hope to get to spend another 15 years as a member of this amazing program!
